Important day today astrologically, spiritually and anatomically.

Anatomically - As moon has reached its full globe. That means it is a full moon today. It in itself is quite an auspicious day of the month.

Spiritually -This day is important day of the year, as it is a full moon day in the month of ashada, i.e. July-August. This day is observed as Guru Pournima. This day is dedicated and is very sacred to the memory of sage Vyaasa. Rishi Vyaasa edited 4 vedas, 18 puranas, Mahabharata and Srimad Bhagvata. This day is important for all the followers of guru, religions like Sikhism, Buddhist and Hindus who lay their faith in guru to direct them to the path of righteousness, salvation and to the eternal god.

Astrologically - This year Jupiter is transiting through its own house pisces - and stays in that house until November 15th. Today jupiter is transiting through Uttarashada Nakshatra - Nakshatra of another Karmic planet - Saturn. And today Moon is transiting through Sagittarius (House of Jupiter) and moving on to Capricorn (House of Saturn), while it is in Uttarashada Nakshatra (Nakshatra of Sun).

This in itself is quite a rare event. During this day a lot of remedies are performed. Women who are childless, girls who are unmarried and men who are struggling with their business, make their offerings to lord shiva or their deity or guru or god, or whoever they believe is the guiding force in their life.
